Growing up near Yosemite, in Coarsegold, CA, Laci got an early start in Animation. Her Dad made games and produced music for video games at Sierra Games Studio. (sierragames.com) Remember playing these games, King’s Quest and Quest for Glory? As a kid, Laci always tagged along. She grew up watching, learning, and wanting to be an artist.

Attending the Art Institute, she received her BA in Media Arts and Animation. She freelanced in character drawing and 2D design. Laci’s drawing clients kept asking her for help voicing the characters. They loved her work, and she enjoyed the experience. Because of this, she began studying voice-over, taking classes and workshops. Her niche is characters for video games, toys, and cartoons/animation.

Laci also “loves to sing and did lots of musical theater for fun during college.”  Some favorite roles were Sandy in Grease, Mayzie in Seussical, evil Stepmom in Into the Woods and the wicked Witch in Shrek.

For a few years, Laci worked as a Studio Tour Guide at Universal Studios Hollywood. Ask her about the time her tram literally crashed into the actual filming of a major Spielberg movie!! Ever been to the Animation Academy in Disney’s California Adventure? Laci was also teaching everybody how to draw Mickey and his friends!!

Laci currently homeschools her two boys, ages 7 and 10. Of course, they take after her. The ten-year-old auditions and books voice-over jobs!!! The seven-year-old loves to draw. Their favorite fun destination is Universal Studios.

“Our dog’s name is Zero, named after Jack Skellington’s dog, of course. He is a big fluffy husky mix. I enjoy spending time in the yard, running around with the kids and Zero, and that’s the reason you may see me covered in dog hair!”

Laci’s newest endeavor is sewing, so she can make cosplay costumes.

Laci has a voice-over agent, and gets many of her jobs through referrals and word of mouth. She says she’d love to work on more animation/game projects with her fellow Creator Society members, too. Feel free to let her know about any fun characters you may be casting!

As a Councilor in the Voice Actor Branch, Laci is currently working on a series of interviews about VO Myths, with voice actors in different career stages.  “I got some wonderful stories from members that I think will be helpful to those hoping to build their skills and studios.”

Her advice to Creator Society members for booking work? “Polish your acting skills since directors seek realistic, and grounded performances; yes, even in animation. The VO Branch is planning more fun events this year, so stay tuned!!“
