The members of the Creators Society are placed into different groups called Branches.
Each Branch elects a Council to lead, plan events, and represent the interests of the members of the branch.
The Council is made up of a Chief, a Vice Chief, and Councilors.

Branch Councils
Branch Councilors help shape the programs and events for their Branch. They work with other Councilors to plan activities, support members, and create opportunities for people in their discipline to connect and participate.
You don’t need years of experience to serve on a Branch Council. In fact, people earlier in their careers can bring valuable perspectives and new ideas to the role. What matters most is being willing to contribute, collaborate, and help build the community.
Serving on a Branch Council is also a chance to develop leadership experience, meet other creators, and have a direct role in shaping the Creators Society experience for your Branch.
Following the election, the newly elected Councilors will meet in December to plan for the year ahead. Together, they’ll identify priorities for their Branch, discuss upcoming programs and events, and decide how they want to support their members.
During this meeting, the Councilors will also select one of the Councilors to serve as Branch Chief.
All Councilors have an equal vote on matters affecting their Branch. Decisions are made by the Council as a group, with each Councilor having the same voice in determining the Branch’s priorities, programs, and activities.
The Chief takes on the additional responsibility of leading the Council. They help coordinate the Council’s work, keep things moving between meetings, and serve as the main representative for the Branch. The Chief also represents the Branch at Creators Society Leadership Meetings, where they work with the other Branch Chiefs and Society leadership.
The Chief remains a Councilor and continues to have the same voting rights as every other member of the Council.
Committee Chairs lead one of the Creators Society committees and help organize the work that committee takes on throughout the year. Chairs are elected annually and work with their committee members to set priorities, coordinate projects, and move the committee’s work forward.
Our committees include Events, Careers, Diversity, Membership, and Communications, each with a different focus and set of responsibilities that support the Creators Society and its members.
You don’t need extensive industry experience to serve as a Committee Chair. The role is a good opportunity for anyone who wants to contribute to the Society, take on a leadership role, and help shape the programs and resources we provide to our members.
After the Election, Following the election, each newly elected Committee Chair will meet with their committee members in December. They’ll review the committee’s ongoing work, establish priorities for the coming year, and select a Vice-Chair to help support the committee and its work.
